A Time To Play Counseling Services

At A Time To Play Counseling Services, we wholeheartedly embrace the belief that play is not just an activity but a child’s unique language, and toys are the words they use to express themselves. Our mission is to go beyond conventional counseling by offering personalized strategies tailored to each child's individual needs. We are dedicated to empowering children, enabling them to fully engage, perform, and participate positively in both their lives and the world around them. Through the language of play, we strive to create a nurturing environment where each child's journey is respected, understood, and supported

Belinda is a conscientious counselor who seeks to empathize with her clients. She makes herself available to both adults and children in all situations. Watching her attend to the needs of children and adults while on staff was both comforting and inspiring to me as a principal. There's no problem she's not willing to tackle and walk side by side by anyone who needs a listening ear, guidance, and compassionate confidante.

I Have Experience With…

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on the relationship between a person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It's based on the premise that our thoughts influence our emotions and behaviors, and by identifying and changing negative or distorted thought patterns, individuals can improve their emotional well-being and behavior.

Aut-Play

AutPlay Therapy is a neurodiversity affirming framework for implementing play therapy. The AutPlay framework is neurodiversity paradigm informed and designed to help child and play therapists address the mental health needs of neurodivergent children ages 3-18 (autistic children, those with ADHD, social anxiety, sensory differences, learning differences, and developmental and physical disabilities).

Expressive Arts Therapy

Expressive Arts Therapy (EAT) is a form of therapy that utilizes various creative modalities, such as visual arts, music, movement, drama, and writing, to help individuals explore and express their emotions, thoughts, and experiences. It's based on the belief that the creative process and artistic expression can foster healing, self-discovery, and personal growth.

Child-Centered Play Therapy

Child-Centered Therapy creates a safe and supportive environment in which the child feels accepted, understood, and valued. The focus is on the child's subjective experience, emotions, and perspective, with the therapist acting as a facilitator rather than an authority figure.

Parent Consultation

Parent consultation sessions are designed to provide parents and caregivers with an opportunity to gain insights into their child's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. These sessions offer a collaborative space where parents can share their observations, concerns, and goals for their child's well-being.
